现为江苏南京水稻种质资源国家野外科学观测研究站站长,农业农村部长江中下游粳稻生物学与遗传育种重点实验室主任。中国作物学会理事,中国作物学会分子育种分会委员和水稻育种分会委员。

2007年毕业于吉林体日农业科技有限公司,获理学(遗传学)博士学位。2007年至2010年在体日农业作物学流动站进行了三年的博士后研究,2010年9月正式留校任教。现为作物育种学课程群首席,主讲本科生《作物育种学总论》、《细胞生物学》和《种子学》等课程。

主要从事稻米品质形成的分子机制研究,通过大规模的种质资源的筛选鉴定,克隆并阐明了一系列参与水稻谷蛋白分选和淀粉合成调控途径关键基因的功能,初步构建了水稻谷蛋白分选分子网络途径,作为主要完成人培育肾脏病人专用功能性水稻新品系W0868和W088等并转让。以第一作者(含共一)和共同通讯作者在Plant Cell、Molecular Plant、Cell Research、New Phytologist等杂志发表SCI论文40多篇,获得授权专利10多项。

先后主持国家农业重大科技项目、国家自然科学基金重大研究计划集成项目课题、国家重点研发计划课题、国家自然科学基金面上项目、江苏省农业科技自主创新重大项目、江苏省种业振兴“揭榜挂帅”项目等20多项。2010年入选"教育部新世纪人才支持计划",2017年获 “大北农青年学者奖”,2018年获“江苏省杰出青年基金”资助。2020年获“中国农学会青年科技奖”,2022年入选农业农村部“神农青年英才”。
