研究领域:水稻遗传育种、水稻分子遗传学、水稻种质资源评价和利用等。

     现任作物遗传与种质创新国家重点实验室副主任,被聘为校“钟山学者计划”首席教授。近年来一直从事水稻新基因挖掘、定位、克隆和功能分析及利用研究。先后主持完成国家863、国家自然科学基金、国家转基因重大专项、科技创新2030-重大项目等30余项课题,目前在研课题5项(包括科技创新2030-重大项目课题2项,国家自然科学基金面上项目1项,省重点研发项目1项,农业农村部项目1项)。作为团队核心成员,在水稻籼粳杂种优势利用基础研究、品质优异基因挖掘、抗穗发芽、抗低温、抗衰老、抗病虫等基因挖掘和抗病高产优质粳稻新品种选育等方面取得了显著成绩。作为主要完成人,近五年来在国内外核心刊物上发表相关论文90余篇,其中发表在Cell, Nature, Science, Nat Biotech, Nat Commun, Dev Cell, PNAS, Plant Cell, Plant JPlant Physiol., Plant Mol Biol, TAG等刊物上的SCI收录70余篇,已获得授权发明专利32项,已获得授权植物新品种保护权22项,2010年获得国家科学技术进步奖一等奖1项,并入选2010年度中国高等学校十大科技进展,2014年获得国家技术发明二等奖1项。
